Keycyte PAM 3.2 · Deployment Guide
Configuring E-Mail and SMS
Keycyte PAM uses e-mail and SMS to deliver notifications, one-time passwords and reports. Configure them right after installation, because several functions depend on them:
- e-mail and SMS one-time passwords for MFA;
- notifications to administrators, for example access requests and Web TLS certificate expiry warnings;
- scheduled reports sent by e-mail.
You configure both on Settings > Notification in the Admin Panel:
| Card | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Email Configuration | Mail server connection and sender. Email Test sends a test message to an address you enter. |
| Sms Configuration | SMS gateway (Provider), sender and credentials, and the text of the one-time password message. Phone Test sends a test message to a number you enter. |
Mail server and SMS gateway credentials are stored encrypted.
For a description of every field, see the Administrator Guide, section Settings > Notification.
Before You Begin
- The Keycyte PAM host can reach the mail server and the SMS gateway on the required ports. See Network Ports.
- The DNS servers you set during installation resolve the names of the mail server and the SMS gateway.
After you save the settings, send a test e-mail and a test SMS to make sure that delivery works.
