Keycyte PAM 3.2 · Administrator Guide
Recycle Bin
When you delete a password vault entry, Keycyte PAM moves it to the recycle bin instead of deleting it at once. The entry stays restorable until its retention period ends; then it is deleted automatically.
The recycle bin is available only to MASTER users.
Warning
Deleting an entry does not change its password on the target system. The credential stays valid for the whole retention period. If an account must stop working, change or disable it on the target before you delete the entry.
Viewing the Recycle Bin
To open the recycle bin, select Settings > Recycle Bin.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name, Username, Type | The deleted entry. |
| Deleted By | Administrator who deleted the entry. |
| Deleted At | When the entry was deleted. |
| Expires In | Days left until the entry is deleted automatically, or Expired. |
No password is shown in the recycle bin. To reach the password of a deleted entry, restore it.
Restoring an Entry
To restore an entry:
- In Settings > Recycle Bin, click Restore in the row of the entry.
- Confirm the restore.
The entry returns to the password vault with its owners, servers, roles, tags and password history. If its original ID is still free, the entry gets it back, so access rules that referred to it apply again.
Deleting an Entry Permanently
To delete an entry permanently, click Delete Permanently in its row and confirm. This cannot be undone.
Changing the Retention Period
The retention period is set in Settings > General, in Recycle Bin Retention; see General Settings. The default is 30 days. A new value applies to entries deleted afterwards; entries already in the bin keep their original expiry.
