Servers

A server is an entry for a system that users connect to through Keycyte PAM: a Windows or Linux host, a network device, a published application, a web application, a database or a Kubernetes pod. Each server has one connection protocol.

A server alone does not let anyone connect. To connect, a user needs:

  1. A server role that contains the server and authorizes the user. See Server Roles.
  2. A password vault account that is linked to the server, and a password role that contains the account and authorizes the user. See Adding Accounts and Password Roles.

To open the server list, select Servers in the menu. An ADMIN sees only the servers that the ADMIN owns.
